Wife and I love to take the dog for a walk through the park. So many things to see, and so many views! The Rose Gardens, the outdoor Ampitheater, the Zoo Train stops right here, there are trails going to the zoo. And it's all accessible from the NW 23rd area, within a 10-15 minute walk. What a great way to spend a Saturday - browse some shops on 23rd, and head up to the park for a leisurely walk and a stunning view of Portland.
Pros: So many things to see, all within an easy walk.
Cons: Nearby parking is a hassle.

Where do you start and where do you end with Washington Park? I would like to know where Washington Park ranks country-wide for "prettiest parks?" Home to some of the best views, great trails, the Zoo, blah blah blah....
Advice: if you have yet to take your spouse or a date to the park for lunch you need to give it a shot! Try the grassy areas near the Rose Garden. Also, if you are a parent, Washington Park is home to argueably the best Jungle Gym in Portland!
Pros: Jungle Gym, Views, Tennis Courts, Rose Garden, Trails, the list goes on.
Cons: Parking on Weekends.
