I really like this park on a hot summer day.  They have a great water feature with a huge flower that showers down cool water and a "carwash type thing" that you can run through and get cooled off.  There are great big tall trees all around the play structure area so you can play and not be in the sun.  The play area is also really large and has something for everyone: swings, climbing structures, bars, tunnels, etc.  My kids had a blast.  We didn't even make it over to the rose garden but it looks beautiful.  During the summer they also offer free activities and free lunch (like most parks around town).

Description

Peninsula Park is arguably one of Portland's most beautiful parks.  it was originally a site for horse racing and shortly after the turn of the century was purchased by the city of Portland and carefully designed into the park you see today.  You can't miss the gorgeous gazebo towards the south end of the park which is a cherished site for dozens of weddings each year.
