friends visiting - where should we (or they) go?

I have some friends visiting at the end of March. They plan to move here in the summer and want to check out the city. However, while I'd know where to take them if they were 30-something with kids (like me), they are more than a decade younger  than I am and have no children.  I need help suggesting places for them to go.  Any good suggestions?

Mid 20's? How about: Ella St Social Club, Shangai Tunnel, The Aalto Lounge, Alu, and of course Moloko Plus? You'll need to eat too, so how about: EaT - the oyster bar, Clyde Common, Por Que No (just before Moloko on Mississippi) Le Pigeon, and for Pizza well the options are a little less limited there ...and also the Nite Light on Clinton, some may disagree, but pair it with some slices at Hammy's on Clinton and i can't imagine anyone not having the time of thier life.

Ha! Thank you Sir! ...However, we completely forgot night spots! Holocene is fun almost any night of the week. And look to see what's happening at the Fez or Lola's room. they have themed dance parties regurlarly... and based on the age range it shouldn't be too tough to find an 80's dance party while their in town.

ohhh!  I love taking friends from out of town around!  Sounds like early to mid-20's... not knowing their interests or where they are moving from, I would say definitely Kennedy School for a movie (or Laurelhurst), Henry's for Happy Hour, if the weather cooperates I love an aerial tram ride.  I like to try to hit several different neighborhoods - NW 23rd, Hawthorne, Sellwood, Alberta, The Pearl, Mississippi.  That was one of the things that got us to move here - seeing all of the different neighborhoods and how easy it is to get around.  And we were still in our 20's then :).

If they're nature lovers, there are a few "must see" parks in Portland: Washington Park, Forest Park, and Mount Tabor. All easily within reach, and all have spectacular viewpoints, and interesting things to see.  This is not including some other nearby attractions such as the Gorge area, Multnomah falls, and of course the ocean (Cannon Beach or Seaside) is a mere 1 hour and 20 minutes drive. So many places, so little time!

WOW!! thanks! Those are great suggestions. We've only been here for abut 2.5 years, so some of these would make fun date nights once our guests are gone. They are moving from San Francisco, so I'm sure they will appreciate the many public transportation options. Awesome! If you think of anything else, keep 'em coming!

We have a friend visiting tonight!!!  It will be a quite short stay and she comes sans kids... but to give you another reference it will be quite night near NE Broadway, a morning to include Helen's sweet little bakery and possiblly Destino on Fremont followed by a casual eastside stroll to NE Alberta for lunch and a brief tour of some of the art galleries new work.
