Community Description

The Buckman is a hip, edgy neighborhood in "close-in" southeast Portland.  The Buckman is home to some of the best restaurants in Portland!  Easily accessed by the eastside industrial area to the west, Sunnyside to the south and Laurelhurst to the east, the Buckman neighborhood is situated close to several other neighborhoods with their own business districts making accessibility to countless bars, restaurants, grocery options and boutiques as easy as it gets on the eastside.  You will see some of the oldest homes on the eastside in the Buckman neighborhood, which is home to numerous turn of the century Victorians (rare if nonexistent in other neighborhoods in Portland).  Most Portlanders don't know the area and neighborhood by name, but if you ask them where a particular restaurant or shop is they will know the area by street name.
