It's exciting that there is a place like this here - in concept. Although it's not where I find myself often, I love the idea: two floors of classic arcade games for cheap - like 1990 prices for a quarter. A full bar. I've seen a friend's band play here and that's also fun. I was taken here recently for their anniversary, in which they charged a flat $5 cover and games were unlimited!
Pros: Arcade selection, bands
Cons: Imagine what arcades smelled like when you were a kid

I haven't been in about 3 years. There isn't much seating inside, instead it has a great heated outdoor patio - sort of reminscient of something I'd imagine in the Mediterranean. Great flavored hookahs that you can order to share with different sized groups. I don't remember the food or drinks that well.
Pros: Hookahs!
Cons: Always outdoors, pricey

I come here only when I have to. And when I do, it's under the pretense that I should be buying local (my other preference is Utrecht - a national company). My first experiences with this place turned me off because it felt too-cool-for-school. My friends consistently recomend it. Looking past the sometimes iffy service, over time I have seen they have a great, broad but not overwhelming selection.
Pros: Well rounded selection, Local, charge to accounts
Cons: Hipster attitude

I'm not sure if staying here one evening, on my wedding night, classifies my experience as different than norm. But just a top notch place. Our suite was big, furnished really nice. It was supplied with just the right details to make it feel really special - flowers, champagne, robes. I watched Obama exit from here when he visited during the campaign - so it must have a good reputation!

Pastini Pastaria (NW)   Feb 12

Neighborhood: Northwest/Nob Hill

I'll agree with Jackson: Pastini does what it should do. That is, (unbelievably) fast, inexpensive and filling pasta. Otherwise though, it's really pretty ordinary. I can't really say which location (NW or SW) I would rate better - they're both really cheesy atmospheres that remind me of being in a fast food restaurant.
Pros: Weirdly fast pasta, cheap
Cons: Salty, ordinary, nothing spectacular, cheesy - vacant fast food atmosphere

Starting this Saturday is the Portland Japanese Garden's "Behind the Shoji". Two dozen regional potters, carvers, and artists working in the Japanese aesthetic. AND it's in the Garden!

Skyline is classic. Good simple shakes too. Try also Higgens in SW, for a total sirloin burger with pickled items. Awesome international beer selection too - and always served in the appropriate glass - something rarely seen here.

I listened to this album 3 times in a row today. Terrific! Great summer album. Check out also: Delta Spirit and Mumford & Sons.

I hate Yahoo. Everything about it. Going as far back as when they swallowed Geocities. This is great that PDX got that "honor" but Yahoo gives no reason why. Sunny. And rainy. Great.
