Sure, this place is rad. It's a huge bike shop with a track upstairs...how could it not be rad. So, I won't chat up the bikes. Check the other reviews. However, they also have a solid fit team. If you're going to ride road style and log some miles a fit is well worth your time. For 100.00 they'll fit you on your bike, adjust it until it feels perfect, and make sure your cleats are fit to keep your knees happy. And they'll keep doing it with a smile for a year. I had a knee injury and had to go back a few times (five) because it was being pretty sensitive. They worked with me until my bike was perfecto! Totally cool about it!
Pros: Great fit team!
Cons: They're prices are fair, but no huge deals until their yearly sale.

I've been here several times for various repairs and for new bikes and equipment as well. Always been very pleased with the repair guys/gals and the help I've received from the sales staff. They all know their stuff :-)
Pros: Nice people, great inventory

this place is amazing! the size, selection and staff all run deep. I was shocked at how friendly people were here and ultimately how much selection they have. I can't imagine how much inventory they keep, but it is vast! The prices are competitive and when it comes to bike gear many times that is enough. I have been to several other bike shops around town and this one make the others look small and quaint. I love just going to River City Bicycles to star at the bikes and the apparrel.

I went to Rvier City Bicycles for the first time a couple years ago.. and have been returning annually for their sale ever since. They are simply a first rate bunch. The store is amazing! From something as simple as the bike racks to something as cool as the indoor track on the second floor you can test ride bikes on. Take these things and add some of the best customer service I have ever had and you get a killer shop. From what I see the prices are competitive... so unless you are looking for a manufacturer like Santa Cruz they simply don't carry, this is the place to go.
Pros: Ambiance, Indoor Track, Service!
Cons: don't carry Santa Cruz... ;-)

Of all the businesses I love and cherish as a Portlander, River City Bicycles is atop the list. This place reeks of goodness at every corner. The service is amazing, the sales support to customer ratios are unparalleled, the design of the store is spot on, choice for manufacturers and bike builders they carry is hard to match (although they could use another French Bike Line, namely TIME). If you are in the market for a new bike, talk to Matt Karre or Amy Campbell (two reasons on a long list as to why River City is as good as it gets.) All people should take their trade and job as seriously as they do and you couldn't be in better hands with their advice and counsel. There is no better place to buy a bike in Portland (frankly west coast) than RCB! If we had 6 stars I would make them one of the few to receive such recognition.
Pros: Bike Selection, SERVICE, location, prices, STAFF, consideration for craft, STAFF, STAFF, STAFF!
