I struggle with this because I love their beer, their story, the brother's, etc. All very cool. Their location under the Fremont bridge is totally industrial eastside portland, cool brick brewery, etc.
BUT...I just don't like the feel inside the restaurant. Kinda crowded, weird rows of booths that dead end, broken up seating areas, very little bar seating...as much as I want to go here more often, I just don't.
Good enough food, great beer, but they need only look at the place Deschutes built in downtown to see what a big awesome NW pub setting should be!
Pros: Great beer
Cons: Cramped feeling and weird restaurant setting

Grubbin' hand crafted pizza. Piled high with toppings. I got introduced to this place years ago by friends who went to OSU (I think this place got started in Corvallis). Funky dive atmosphere, good beer, truly delicious pizza.

I've been here several times for various repairs and for new bikes and equipment as well. Always been very pleased with the repair guys/gals and the help I've received from the sales staff. They all know their stuff :-)
Pros: Nice people, great inventory

This made me think of another article from last year, which ranked us as America's Unhappiest City: http://images.businessweek.com/ss/09/02/0226_miserable_cities/2.htm Really? Worse than Detroit??? I had to laugh.

Oregon Brewer's Festival starts today - if they're into that type of atmosphere, and good beer! I think there might be a small charge for entry though...

If possible I would get the landlord's phone number, and politely ask them to deal with the situation. Assuming it continues, you and all the neighbors should call them when the next incident occurs. Use *67 to block your number, and call them at 1:00AM and say "just wanted you to know that I'm being kept awake by your tenant" ... I would think that a few iterations of that (getting a bunch of calls in the middle of the night) will result in them taking action.

Indeed. Where can I go to a park with my dog and not be bothered by annoying strangers? I'm am not aware of a place where you'll be alone, but my technique is to stay on the move whilst at the park...stroll the perimeter, you know, cover some territory. As soon as you stop a mob forms, and you're stuck talking about leashes and heart worm with characters from The Simpsons.
